Coming together to do God's work by helping each other. If you are facing challenges that affect your life, there IS assistance available!
ELDERLY - VETERANS - SINGLE WORKING FAMILY
We help find shelter, hygiene and clothing , and food for those in need. Assistance with utilities on a case by case basis.
We can even assist with up to 28 days of temporary housing until such time as a permanent one can be found and maintained.
Who We Are
Highly qualified and motivated professionals. Mike Dotson and Mandy Lynn Butera work hard to assist as many people as they can in Monroe County, Tennessee.
Mike tells the story of Fresh Start Ministries, INC:
Almost three years ago I went with my brother to pick his ministry truck up. A couple from Madisonville was donating it to him.At that time I saw an old camper in the field. And I asked the gentleman how much he wanted for it and he gave it to me. Talk about a blessing!
The next day Jesus was telling me to make a mobile showerunit out of it. While pulling the camper to Sweetwater it started falling apart. Fast forward, we ended up getting a school bus which is now our mobile shower bus. Needing supplies the community started donating a LOT of items and Fresh Start was formed. We offer a Hand Up, not a Hand Out!

What We Do
PROVIDE HOUSING, COUNSELING AND OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THE HOMELESS AND DISABLED VETERANS.
Fundraisers
Watch for Fresh Start and Our Outstanding Quesadillas at many local community festivals & happenings. Our work in the community is supported solely by donations, grants and fundraisers.
Shelter for Homeless
Because someone is homeless it does not mean they are bad. That is why we believe that you don't give a handout, you give a handup. By donations of older campers which need a little TLC, we can refurbish them and offer a person a nice home to live in.
Refined Details
Work on updating campers, modular homes or even houses in disrepair is accomplished by local people willing to donate time and talent to help a person in need.
Food
Fresh Start has a food bank for anyone who is hungry. Groceries and some ready to eat products. All FREE. Our Breakaway Outreach center is located at 540 S. Main St., Sweetwater, TN

Clothing
Many people in these situations often only have what they can wear, carry and hold onto. But with Fresh Start they can find new clothes for Free.

So they get a house, now how do they make it a home. With help from kind people with household items to donate or even build.
